Your ‘day to day’: As Manufacturing Engineer you will be part of our Manufacturing department for Philip Morris Manufacturing & Technology Bologna S.p.A. and will be reporting to the Supervisor Process Support. The position will be based in Bologna. A key responsibility will be to ensure that processes and machinery standards are sustainable, correctly defined and properly documented. You will also identify missing links in the process and address the gaps -interacting with the appropriate figures in the manufacturing organization- to ensure the solution is identified. Finally, you will work together with the technical staff within the area, in order to fill the identified skills gaps and develop the adequate technical expertise. Your Responsibilities: • Assist in developing product concepts, process enhancements, technical alternatives, designs, standards, test and evaluation plans under close supervision (Level 1). Lead Focus teams, involving all needed functions and OPEN+ staff, to develop and implement process enhancements across all manufacturing teams (Level3). • Collect data and make calculations under supervision by applying standard analytical techniques to ensure system improvements / standards / compliance (Level 1). Apply scientific and engineering principles and techniques to analyze technologies, processes and products to ensure system improvements / standards / compliance (Level 2). Develop tools to improve data analysis related to all processes and main KPIs to ensure that main losses are addressed by the manufacturing organization (Level 3). • Assist in testing, assessment and implementation of product concepts, modified systems using formal protocols (Level 1). Participate in the preparation of schedules & estimates and maintain plans, timetables and resource requirements to ensure all activities meet the overall plan and standards (Level 2). Search and find the best solutions and suppliers for equipment and contracts, relying on objective data (Level 3). • Assist activities/tasks of technicians (Level 1). Coordinate activities/tasks of technicians or less experienced professionals and contractors (Level 2). Organize multiple activities/tasks of various departments and contractors, coordinating technicians and experienced professionals and contractors (Level 3). Who we’re looking for: • University degree in Engineering, Sciences or equivalent. • 1-3 years (level 1) or 4-5 years (Level 2/3) of professional experience in Manufacturing with a technical role • Additonal exposure to Quality Department or Project engineer, Ops. Planning, Engineering, OPEN+ Global, CoE, Tech. Support is required for senior levels of the role. • Strong project management experience. Formal education in PMPM is a plus. • Knowledge in MS Office Package. • Strong communication, negotiation, ability to coach, teamwork and intercultural competence. Action orientation, analytical thinking, priority setting and strong drive for results. • Fluent in English and Italian both written and spoken.
