Your ‘day to day’:
As Quality Engineer you will be part of CoE Quality Department for Philip Morris and will be reporting to the CoE Functional QA Lead. The position will be based in Bologna, Italy.
In your role you will ensure that statistical process control rules are correctly applied in manufacturing process and collaborate with relevant streams to drive Quality Right First time. In your role you will be responsible for initiative improvements.
Related to processes and products you will provide technical or analytical direction to solve quality and/or operational issues while looking for productivity and standardization opportunities. Moreover, you will act/support as business process owner for online automated control systems and support the in/on/at line system integration with current digital solutions.
Specific responsibilities include:
• Lead implementation and deployment of statistical process control rules within all PMI affiliates in collaboration with Global Manufacturing Streams and QCS Team with the aim to improve the quality output performances.
• Support innovation projects for the implementation of new in/on line systems and their integration with current digital solutions, in light of PMI Quality Standards.
• Lead In Process Control community across RRP affiliates to ensure standardization of statistical process control roles and correct implementation to the applicable production processes.
• Lead IMEL quality module community across RRP affiliates to ensure correct implementation for new functionalities for quality and support new quality functionalities development.
• Lead the deployment of Product Control Strategies within RRP affiliates; collaborate with Quality Control Strategy Team for the definition of requirements, collect affiliates feedbacks and coordinate with relevant functions to ensure improvements are deployed on time and respecting the PMI Quality Standards.
• Promote and apply all rules concerning PMI Quality, environment, health and safety. Report all situations requiring actions in order to minimize or eliminate risks exposure to personnel, company assets and societal impacts and be in line with or ahead of any applicable Law requirements and Company standards.
Requirements & Skills:
• University Degree in Engineering, science or equivalent
• 3-5 year experience in Process Control Engineering in Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices, food or Tobacco Industries.
• Lean Manufacturing Statistical methodologies (SPC, 6sigma) and statistical software (e.g Minitab) – Back Belt certification as a plus
• Past experience in leading cross-functional project and teams.
• Ability to empower people in order to meet the objectives.
• Fast learner, effective communicator, solid interpersonal abilities and ability to manage various stakeholders.
• Fluent in English written and spoken and desirable Italian.
